Description
Anti-plaque kelp formula fortified with enzymes. 70 gram (2.47 ounce) jar with scoop. Without proper dental care, tartar builds on your dog’s teeth which can cause bad breath and other issues. Our SeaDent oral supplement helps to keep your dog’s mouth healthy. Unlike other oral products with kelp as their sole ingredient, SeaDent for Dogs is fortified with five well-researched plant enzymes that have been proven to fight plaque in the mouth. A key enzyme is Lysozyme, a naturally occurring enzyme that plays a vital role in maintaining dental health and tartar control for dogs. SeaDent attacks plaque-forming concerns in multiple ways: by the systemic activities of the kelp and by introducing digestive enzymes that begin working to help remove plaque immediately upon entering the mouth. These enzymes break down food particles trapped between the teeth and under the gum lines.

Nothing has worked for my dogs teeth before this. I was skeptical but i’ve only been using it for a week and she has already had a big chunk of plaque fall off one of her back molars. I give it to her in a spoonful of canned dog food every morning and she loves it and looks forward to it. I still brush her teeth every day but that alone wasn’t enough to actually remove any plaque. I did my research on the product and the iodine in the kelp can be a problem for dogs who have thyroid issues so I wouldn’t use this for any breed that is high risk for thyroid issues. It's hard to find affordable products for pets so I was happy to find this for $12. The low price is what sold it.So far the Sea Dent Kelp seams to be making my black labs teeth whiter but we’ve only been using for a little while. We are still using her first bottle. We went to the Vet in March, 2022 and the Vet wanted me to have her teeth cleaned. I always try natural solutions first. I think her teeth are looking cleaner and whiter. She likes the taste of the kelp. I recommend trying it!My rottie is a super picky eater..he has no idea that it's added to his food..but truthfully I don't know if it's cleaning his teeth a lot but I do wish I started him on this when he was a puppyI have a 14 mo. Irish Water Spaniel who is now 65 lbs. and began using this product 4 months ago at the suggested daily dosage. I decided to use this product after deciding between plaqueoff, thinking it may be a bit better because of the added enzymes and since they both have the same kelp ingredient. Through the past 4 months I've also brushed his teeth 3x/week and figured that even if the product would soften any plaque, it would simply rub off with the brushing. Over this time I noticed some plaque forming in the grooves of his rear upper molars, very slowly, and became a little discouraged. I tried scraping it with my nail but it was too hard to release. I figured I'd keep trying and bought a 2nd bottle but noticed right as it arriverd that he has plaque that has formed around the gumline of his canines, particularly the lower ones, which were harder to see without moving his gums aside. Another disappointing fact was that this 2nd bottle came with no scoop included, which must have been missed during the manufacturing since the bottle arrives with a plastic seal.So between the lack of results and no scoop for proper dispensing, I decided to return this 2nd bottle and won't be using it again since it hasn't worked for my dog. If it was working, it was only a little and certainly not enough to keep up with the plaque that conitnued to develop and he would have eventually needed a dental cleaning at the vet, which all my efforts and this product was intended or postpone for a long time. His breath was also slowly getting worse over these last months and often smells a bit like a dirty fish tank, particularly right after he ate his kibble with the powder sprinkled all over it. This seemed to me to be the combination of the kelp/sea-food smell plus the bacteria in the plaque accumulation to give a "dirty fish tank" odor. And since he's just over a year old, this was disappointing given all the positive reviews of this product. To my surprise, my dog allowed me to scrape off the plaque that had formed on those rear molars with a dental scaler i have and it didn't take much effort to scape off with the tool. I'm considering trying plaqueoff but don't have high hopes despite how well reviewed and more popular it is, also because it has the same active kelp ingredient. But who knows, maybe it's different somehow.Tough to say if it's working just yet, hasn't been two weeks. BUT that said, my dog has periodontal disease so I'd expect this to not really have much affect but I keep trying natural remedies to ease the smell and discomfort. His breath seems to stink a little less and as a picky eater he doesn't flinch at it being in his food. Will update if need be as it gets used more.I mix this with a little tuna fish or wet food and my cats eat it up. They never know that it's there.I bought this Product Animal Essentials for both of my small dogs after having Dentals done on them both. It appears to be doing at good job of keeping their teeth clean BUT UNFORTUNATELY they must be allergic to something in this because BOTH Gurls itch, scratch, and bite their paws constantly afterwards…..I’m discontinuing using this.
